M9 SHUNTING AT SPADDLEPORT - Spaddleport Quay, East Whimshire Railway

The furthest extent of the EWR is just beyond the end of the blue shed to the left of the picture. This shed can only be accessed by passing over a rather flimsy drawbridge which allows boats to pass into the inner basin. As it is forbidden for locomotives to run across the bridge, the rule-book specifies shunting wagons by gravity and retrieving them by means of a long chain attached to the engine. On this occasion Chloe's driver has decided that the fishing is better on the far side of the bridge and ignored the notice. Bridge strengthening work is being carried out as apparently this is a common occurrence!
