Reg and Colin's Great Railway Adventure

Thank you to everyone who booked on our first glorious coach trip, Thursday June 6th, the weather was fine, the company was splendid and we had a fun day pootling around the hinterland of Titfield in Alan Dorrington's beautiful 1949 Bedford OB.

Lots of people took photographs along the way, thank you to Paul Turner and Andrew Swift for copies provided after the event, I will attempt to give readers a feel for the day right here.

Pictured at left is a rather hep character who joined us forthe day. He is more usually to be found trudging alongside the A4 in the snow, picking up litter around Rudloe, writing improving letters to "The Times", extolling the virtues of rugby league or practising conversational French in Larkhall. His alter ego is a regular and welcome visitor to the shop - thanks Paul!
Here we see some rather tastefully attired passengers along the "Clank" at Monkton Combe:

We ran another trip on Friday June the28th, with slightly fewer passengers the hills were less of a problem and although the weather was not quite on a par with our first outing it was nonetheless a very pleasant day out. Thank you to everyone who came along, the company was excellent and we again immersed ourselves in the Titfield landscape. A highlight of this last trip was that Monkton Combe School's first cricket team was playing on Longmead in the sunshine as we drew up along "The Clank" - what a lovely sight.

From the second trip here we see Reg displaying his treasures at the site of Monkton Combe level crossing:

Left for Titfield! (Reg had just confidently led everyone into the pub car park)

Colin in the meantime stands in disbelief at Reg's expert knowledge of local geography,,,,

We will most likely run another tour in this fantastic vehicle later this year, if you are interested then contact me and I will let you know further details as they get worked out.
