The Titfield Thunderbolt Bookshop

Friday 25th January 2013

There wasn't a "talking shop" for January, as I was rather preoccupied with the terrible passing of my friend Cynric Williams. By way of a tribute to him I repeat below what I wrote on my website at the time.

Well before proceeding any further, I am sorry to report that the New Year started very badly in that my friend Cynric Williams passed away unexpectedly on New Year's day. Of natural causes but horribly early (Cynric was 47) his departure has left a gaping Cynric shaped hole in many people's lives, especially those of his wife Liz and two wonderful young sons. He founded the forum Western Thunder amongst many other achievements, and if you wish to read more of what he achieved and also how much he was appreciated by his friends then there is more information on the forum.

Pictured above, Neil Rushby, Steve Cook, Cynric Williams and Simon Castens on the occasion of the opening of the Titfield Thunderbolt shop on November 13th 2010. I think we are laughing as Cynric had just made a disarmingly blunt comment about how tall some us were!

Rest in peace Cynric - you are much missed.
