The Titfield Thunderbolt Bookshop


Established in September of 1992, the "Titfield Thunderbolt" is an independent bookselling business owned and run by Simon Castens.

Situated in the pleasant suburb of Larkhall, the new shop is within easy reach of the A4 and M4 on the eastern side of the city, with free on street parking. For those who wish to travel by public transport the shop is within two minutes walk of bus stops on several major bus routes into and out of the city.

What will you find there?

A large range of quality railway books, including the full ranges of Wild Swan, Oakwood, Lightmoor, Millstream Books and Twelveheads Press, which includes all available back issues of these publishers' journals. Also a growing range of books from all the other railway publishers. Magazines, covering both the prototype and modelling and including "Bylines", "Model Railway Journal", "Railway Archive" and many more.

Modelling supplies. Now in stock, complete range of Peco track in OO, both Setrack and code 100 Streamline, plus most of the code 75 range. O gauge plain track and range of O gauge wagon kits. In 4mm, Wills, Ratio, Parkside kits, Jackson stock wheels, Metcalfe card kits and much more. Complete range of Woodland Scenics materials and limited range of Bachman Branchline inluding the wonderful new 7F model.

Peter Barnfield greetings cards. Alan Godfrey's wonderful OS map reprints, striking postcards of railway poster art, local history books, current Ordnance Survey maps and decent quality and interesting second hand books.
