Nick McCamley [Publisher: Folly Books 2018] Softback 236 pages
A superb new edition of the author's 2004 book for Ex Libris, full of information, good photographs - a fascinating book about an intriguing place.
Andrew Swift & Kirsten Elliott [Publisher: Akeman Press 2016] Softback 290 pages
A well illustrated and highly readable guide to the old trade signs that have been painted up on buildings through the years to advertise businesses and products to the passing public. Some are familiar to me, others less so, but all the businesses and products featured are well researched and written up, and the book is laid out intelligently by area in an order that will suit a walking exploration of the areas covered.
Colin Fisher [Publisher: Akeman Press 2014] Softback 88 pages
Subtitled "An Italian immigrant's search for respectability in Victorian Bath" this is an interesting story centred around a fountain that used to stand in Bath Street and dispense water from thefamous hot springs. An attractively produced book, nicely and appropriately illustrated throughout and providing a slightly quirky look at an aspect of Bath's recent(ish) history.
